Teaching and Workshops
How do you build a voice?
Sebastian has been teaching voice for ten years. Beginning with undergraduate non-majors in Wisconsin and Chicago, and elderly men and women in Upstate New York, he has since been a teacher and mentor to talented young adults in Brooklyn and the Upper East Side, professional actors, songwriters, and singers in Manhattan. Whether the goal is to get accepted to their preferred music program, feel more confident onstage, or have the ability to command a room with their voice, Sebastian helps his students reach their goals.
This is because he knows how to build a voice. And he knows this because he’s had to rebuild his own voice, twice.
Sebastian has professional education and experience as an opera singer and voice actor, as well as over 10 years of experience as an audio engineer, but it is his lived experience of surviving cancer twice, and still working as a professional performer afterward that gives him the clarity of what works and what doesn’t work when you’re trying to build (or rebuild) your voice.
So if you’re looking for a one-on-one lesson for yourself, or think your team would benefit from a workshop - reach out.
Sebastian has a Master’s degree in Voice from DePaul University, and currently teaches voice at Brooklyn Youth Chorus, Upper East Side Music, as well as his own private studio in Manhattan. Sebastian has taught voice and worked as a production professional while maintaining a professional performance career as a singer and voice actor.
